Wednesday evening – prayer and anointing
WHATS HAPPENING?
As you would have read on the front cover, this Wednesday the CCSH Elders will be available for all who desire prayer—whether for healing or any other burden or need you may be carrying. They will be ready to anoint with oil and pray the prayer of faith, just as we are instructed in James 5:14–15.
Don’t miss this opportunity to come forward after the study and be prayed for by the Elders.
Calvary Women
Please mark your diaries for Tuesday, 28th April at 9:30am here at the chapel as the women begin their study in the book of Ruth. Be sure to invite a friend and come along to enjoy fellowship and grow together with other godly women in this special time of study.
Mother’s Day Service
Mother’s Day is fast approaching—Sunday, 10th May 2026. We look forward to a special time together as we give thanks for and honour the mothers among us.
Calvary Ministry Team Is the Lord leading you to serve here at CCSH? There are opportunities to be involved on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. The harvest is plentiful, but the labourers are few (Matthew 9:37–38). Be one who answers the call and becomes a blessing to the body of Christ. Simply fill in a Connection Card and begin serving where the Lord leads.
Israel Tour 2027 Plans for Israel in January 2027 have not been set aside. We continue to seek the Lord’s leading regarding this opportunity. Please stay tuned and keep this in prayer.
Calvary Men The men met this past Friday evening at the chapel, and it was a blessed gathering of those desiring to walk seriously with the Lord and grow as godly men. If you missed this one, be sure to join the next. Strong, Christ-centred friendships are forming—what a blessing to see.
Calvary Young Adults The Young Adults met last night at Pastor Marlon and Hannah’s home for worship, the Word, and fellowship. In a world that constantly takes, gatherings like this provide a rich opportunity to be encouraged, strengthened, and built up in God’s Word. For more information, please speak with Pastor Marlon or Hannah.

A Life of Witness
This coming Wednesday evening, we will hear Paul’s personal testimony of seeing Christ on the road to Damascus (Acts 22:6–10). In the book of Acts, one word consistently rises to the surface as the true expression of Christianity—“witness.”
How did Paul witness?
He witnessed through his impact on others—his love, compassion, sorrow for the lost, and his continual prayers for them, all flowing from a heart that knew its debt to Christ (Romans 1:14).
He witnessed through his character—a life marked by tenderness, strength, courage, and a large-hearted love for people (2 Corinthians 6:3–10).
He witnessed through sacrifice—risking everything for Christ, no matter the danger before him (Acts 20:24).
He witnessed through boldness—speaking faithfully to both believers and unbelievers, to Jews and Gentiles alike (Acts 4:29–31).
But why could Paul live and speak this way?
Because he was continually in fellowship with God the Father (Acts 9:11).
Because Christ was real and precious to him (Philippians 3:8).
Because the Holy Spirit filled his life with grace and guidance (Acts 1:8).
So the question now comes to us—
Where do we stand?
What is our personal witness?
How are we living before others?
This week, let us take our place alongside Paul in the Lord’s work. Let us be faithful witnesses, bringing the Gospel to the lost wherever God has placed us.
“And you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth…” (Acts 1:8)—
yes, even here in Secret Harbour.

Dysfunctional families are not a recent development. In the Bible we see many families that would be classed as dysfunctional today. Joseph had a childhood full of animosity between his father’s wives – who were sisters. His father showed favouritism toward him and his full brother, causing jealousy and animosity with his half-brothers who sold him to slavery. Sarah (Abraham’s wife) was so desperate to have a child she pushed her maidservant to have relations with Abraham that resulted in a child and contempt and disrespect from this maid. These examples serve to learn from – what not to do. Proverbs tells us what to do – a wise woman builds her house…
