Welcome to Calvary Chapel
Sunday 10th May 2026
Welcome to Calvary Chapel Secret Harbour today!
🌸 Happy Mother’s Day! 🌸
Happy Mother’s Day to all the mums today!
Proverbs 31:28 “Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.”
There is a small gift for all the mums with us today! As it is Mother’s Day Sunday, and as has been our practice in past years, there will be no Sunday evening service tonight, allowing families time to spend with and visit their mums. Evening services will resume as normal next week.
🌷 Calvary Women
Ladies Bible Study is on this Tuesday here at the chapel beginning at 9:30am. All ladies are welcome, and we encourage you to invite a friend to join with you.

🔥 Calvary Youth & Calvary Kids
Both ministries are happening this coming week here at the chapel! Calvary Youth will also have a special study on Bible prophecy with Pastor Keith teaching this week.

From the Pastor’s Pen
Luk 7:47 “Therefore I say to you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven, for she loved much. But to whom little is forgiven, the same loves little.”
Is it possible for there to be no emotion between a bridegroom and bride on their wedding day? Or between a father and mother at the birth of their child? In the same way, whilst we are not to allow emotions to direct our walk with God, surely emotion is a natural outcome of genuinely loving our Lord and walking closely with Him.
Sometimes you would think that showing any emotion in worship, prayer, or fellowship is somehow unspiritual. Yet when we look at our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, we see deep and perfect emotion expressed continually.
Jesus wept over the death of Lazarus, even though He knew He would soon raise him from the dead. He was angered by the hypocrisy of religious leaders who sought attention through outward acts of religion. He was moved with compassion when He saw the multitudes weary, hungry, and scattered like sheep without a shepherd. He received with tenderness the woman who washed His feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair. He marvelled at the faith and determination of the four men who lowered their paralysed friend through the roof and laid him before Him.
King David also gives us many personal examples throughout the Psalms of rejoicing, weeping, praising, singing, and pouring out his heart before God. Biblical worship was never cold, mechanical, or lifeless. It was heartfelt and sincere.
The woman in Luke 7 loved much because she knew she had been forgiven much. A heart that truly grasps the grace, mercy, and forgiveness of God cannot remain untouched. Gratitude toward Christ produces love, worship, joy, humility, and at times even tears.
When we arrive in Heaven, there will be no restraint, no embarrassment, and no pride holding us back from worshipping our Lord with all our being. Every heart will be fully surrendered in praise to Jesus Christ.
Let us therefore lay aside pride and self-consciousness and give to God the glory due unto His Name. May our worship never become mere routine, but may our hearts remain tender, thankful, and deeply moved by the goodness and grace of our Saviour.

Helen’s heart
Proverbs 31: 25 She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future. A word to women: God knows our plight – how the toil and uncertainty of recent events can bring upon us fear and doubts. But God in His providence has placed you in these last days – this is your purpose. We can as women demonstrate absolute confidence in our heavenly Father, to our husbands, children and family and friends – to a world that needs Jesus. Inspire faith not fear and go ahead and smile at the future for we know our loving Father and Creator of all things is in perfect and total control!
