Daily devotion – A message of hope for today!

Pastor Keith   -

1Th 5:5
“Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.”

This coming Friday night, I have the privilege of teaching with the Calvary Chapel Secret Harbour youth group. We will be giving an overview of Bible prophecy, covering the Church Age, the Rapture of the Church, the seven-year Tribulation, the Second Coming of Jesus Christ, the 1000-year Millennial Kingdom reign, the Great White Throne Judgment, and the New Heaven and New Earth.

Why such a message?

Because this is the message for the days in which we are living. We are not called to be ignorant concerning the Last Days, especially when nearly one-third of the Bible contains prophecy concerning God’s plan and purposes for this world.

1Th 5:1
“But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.”

1Th 5:4-6
“But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day… Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.”

The heart behind this study is that our youth would be confident and assured in Christ, not living in fear of the unknown. God’s Word tells us clearly what is unfolding in the world and what is yet to come. Bible prophecy is not given to frighten believers, but to strengthen our faith, encourage holy living, and remind us that Jesus Christ is in complete control.

The coming of Christ for His Church, and the events that will unfold after the Church is removed from this world, are critical truths for believers to understand.

Today, many young Australians are living with fear, confusion, anxiety, and uncertainty as the world changes rapidly around them. Society lurches from one crisis to another, and many are searching desperately for hope and stability.

Yet for the believer, these are exciting times.

Luk 21:28
“And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.”

The Gospel of Jesus Christ shines even brighter in dark days. As the world grows more uncertain, the certainty of God’s Word becomes more evident than ever.

2Pe 1:19
“We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place…”

Parents, if your children attend the youth group here at Calvary, please take time afterward to speak with them and help answer any further questions they may have regarding Bible prophecy. Open the Scriptures together and discover the beauty, precision, and faithfulness of God’s plan revealed throughout His Word.

Deut 6:5-7
“And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.
And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:
And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.”

Please also continue praying for our young people. The enemy is targeting this generation heavily, but the Lord is still calling young men and women to Himself, raising up disciples who will stand boldly for truth in these Last Days.

And if you would like to serve as a support servant with the CC Youth ministry as they meet every second Friday here at church, please see Noah Carmody. There is something special and comforting for young people when older believers are present, encouraging them simply by being there.

Tit 2:6-8
“Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded.
In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works…”
