What happens when you pray…?
Have you ever wondered what happens when you pray? Do your words just float off into the cosmos? Maybe you have wondered what God does when He hears our prayers? Does He put them in a folder or something else to get back to later?
Daniel was an amazing man of prayer and in the book bearing his name we have some amazing detail of what happens when we pray.
Daniel 10:10 Suddenly, a hand touched me, which made me tremble on my knees and on the palms of my hands. 11 And he said to me, “O Daniel, man greatly beloved, understand the words that I speak to you, and stand upright, for I have now been sent to you.” While he was speaking this word to me, I stood trembling.
12 Then he said to me, “Do not fear, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart to understand, and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard; and I have come because of your words.
Daniel has been fasting and praying and notice what the angel said to Daniel about his prayer.

From the first day that you set your heart to understand, and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard;

Daniel’s prayer reached heaven immediately!
God Heard Daniel’s prayer!

and I have come because of your words.

God set about immediately to answer Daniel’s prayer by sending one of His angels to Daniel.

14 Now I have come to make you understand what will happen to your people in the latter days, for the vision refers to many days yet to come.”

Daniel’s prayer request was being answered specifically with what Daniel has asked to be made known.

19 And he said, “O man greatly beloved, fear not! Peace be to you; be strong, yes, be strong!” So when he spoke to me I was strengthened, and said, “Let my lord speak, for you have strengthened me.”

Daniel is told by the angel that God will strengthen him in the time of his desperate prayer and will keep him strong – God sent a message of encouragement to Daniel to not give in.
If you read through the verses between the ones discussed you will see that Daniel’s prayer caused a battle in the spiritual realm. But God’s angels overpowered those of the enemies.
When you pray, remember God hears your prayer, God answers your prayer, and God seeks to keep you strong in the time of your struggle through prayer.
How amazing to know this that when you set to pray, heaven swings into action to answer!
Bring your need to the Lord and see His power work through your prayers!
