This week there are many wonderful opportunities to gather together with fellow believers for prayer, fellowship, and the study of God’s Word in addition to our Sunday and midweek services. We encourage everyone to stay connected and be strengthened in their walk with Christ through regular fellowship and Bible study.
Calvary Women meets this Tuesday at 9:30am here at the chapel. This special Bible study is a wonderful opportunity for the women of Calvary to grow together in Christ, encourage one another, pray together, and deepen their understanding of God’s Word. Crèche is available for mothers attending.
Friday night is once again a great evening for both Calvary Kids and Calvary Youth as our young people gather for Bible teaching, worship, fellowship, and discipleship. Please continue to pray for these ministries as the Lord continues to bless and grow them.
There are always opportunities for parents and members of the fellowship to be involved in serving during our Friday night ministries. Whether helping with setup, hospitality, supervision, worship, or support roles, your service is greatly appreciated. If you would like to be part of the servant team, please see Noah Carmody for more details.
Would you like to be part of the servant team helping spread the Gospel around the world? CCSH continues to reach many people through our online teaching ministry and livestreaming outreach. If you are interested in serving in the media booth, assisting with livestreaming, sound, or technical support, please speak with Pastor Marlon or Pastor Nathanael.
Our teaching series and Bible studies are also available throughout the week through Spotify, YouTube, and our church website, CCSH, providing opportunities to stay in God’s Word wherever you are.
Are you receiving and sharing our daily devotions that are posted each day? These devotionals are a wonderful way to begin each morning focused on the Lord and also provide an easy opportunity to share God’s Word with family, friends, and others who may need encouragement and the hope found in Jesus Christ.

The Prize – The Treasure Matthew 6:19–21
“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal. But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”
Did you ever receive a new bike as a child, a new pair of shoes, sneakers, or perhaps some new sporting equipment? Do you remember how carefully you treated it when you first received it? You cleaned it constantly, protected it from damage, stored it safely, and made sure no one mistreated it. But over time something changed. The excitement faded. The “treasure” slowly lost its shine. Eventually it was left outside, forgotten in a cupboard, or treated as something of little value. Jesus tells us that the treasures of this world are exactly like that. The things people chase so desperately — wealth, achievements, possessions, fame, success — all eventually fade away. They rust, decay, wear out, are stolen, or lose their appeal. How many athletes spend years sacrificing everything to win a medal or a championship, only to feel an emptiness once the victory has passed? How many mountaineers reach the summit they dreamed about for years, only to discover that the achievement could not truly satisfy the deeper longing of the heart? The world promises fulfilment through earthly treasures, yet so often those treasures leave behind a vacuum.
Jesus reminds us that there is a far greater treasure to pursue — an eternal one. Philippians 3:14 “I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”
The Apostle Paul understood this well. Once he had pursued earthly recognition, status, and religious prestige, but after encountering Christ, everything changed. His life became centred upon one eternal prize — knowing Christ and faithfully serving Him until the end. This prize is not temporary. It cannot be stolen, corrupted, or lost. It is reserved for faithful believers who continue walking with Christ and living for His glory. One day, when Jesus returns, those who have remained faithful will receive a crown that will last forever. What are you striving for today? What occupies your thoughts, your energy, and your heart? The Lord lovingly asks us to examine where our treasure truly lies. If our greatest treasure is Christ, then our heart will also be fixed upon eternity. May we live not merely for passing earthly rewards, but for the eternal prize found in Jesus Christ our Lord.
Helen’s heart
What is it that you fear? Is it the future? Is it death? Is it uncertainty, sickness, loneliness, failure, or the troubles of this world? Most people spend their lives fearing many things, yet often fail to fear God — the One whom we should reverence, honour, and stand in awe of above all else. The wonderful news of the Gospel is that Jesus Christ came to set people free from fear. Through His death and resurrection, He conquered sin, Satan, and death itself. For those who place their trust in Him, fear no longer has the final word. The Bible tells us plainly that Christ’s power is greater than every power of darkness and evil. No circumstance, no trial, and no spiritual force can separate the believer from the love and care of God. Romans 8:38–39 declares: “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” What an incredible promise! Death cannot separate us from Christ. The future cannot separate us from Him. Demons cannot overcome His power. Even in our weakest moments, His love remains steadfast and secure. The enemy seeks to fill hearts with fear, confusion, and uncertainty, but Jesus speaks peace to His people. He reminds us that we belong to Him, that He will never leave nor forsake us, and that our lives are safely held in His hands. As believers, we are called not to live controlled by fear, but by faith. The fear of God brings wisdom, security, and peace, while the fear of the world brings bondage and anxiety. The more we fix our eyes upon Christ, the smaller our fears become. Today, bring your fears before the Lord. Trust Him with your future, your family, your health, and your life. Rest in the assurance that nothing in all creation can separate you from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. We look forward to being with you all this Tuesday as we gather together in Christ, encouraging one another in His Word, His promises, and His unfailing love.
