Holy Communion – Next Sunday
Next Sunday we will gather around the Lord’s Table to celebrate Holy Communion. Over these coming days, let us prayerfully prepare our hearts as we come to give thanks for Christ’s sacrifice and remember all that He has done for us.
Israel Tour 2027 – We continue to watch the situation in Israel prayerfully and have recently received encouraging reports from both our tour operator and our guide, Yaniv. Tours have recommenced, major airlines have resumed flights into Tel Aviv, and Yaniv has shared that he is looking forward, Lord willing, to leading our group in early 2027. Our intention remains to travel in January 2027, now only seven months away. If you are planning to join us, please continue to remain positive and prayerful as we look forward to once again walking in the footsteps of Jesus in the Holy Land. Prayer After Services – Following each Sunday service, our pastors and elders are available at the front of the sanctuary to pray with you regarding any need or concern. Please don’t hesitate to come forward and allow us the privilege of praying with you. School Holiday Serving Opportunities -As the school holidays approach, there will be opportunities to serve around the chapel. If you have some extra time and would like to help, please speak with one of the pastors and leave your details. CCSH Youth Hoodies – Our last remaining CCSH Youth hoodies are available for purchase in the foyer at a reduced price. Be sure to grab one while stocks last!

2 Timothy 3:16 “All scripture is given by inspiration of God…”There are times as you study the Bible when you can feel as though you are simply skimming over the pages. You read the words, yet you struggle to gain a foothold, establish a deep connection, or drink in all that the passage has for you. It can seem as though the Scriptures are closed to your understanding. This is because the Bible is unlike any other book. It is the inspired Word of God—God-breathed—and it requires the Holy Spirit to enlighten our hearts and minds to its truth. We must never approach God’s Word as though it were merely an academic textbook. It is living and powerful, and it is the Spirit of God who opens our eyes to behold its riches. Sadly, many people give up reading the Bible when they encounter these struggles. They conclude that it is simply too difficult to understand. Yet these are the very moments when we most need to humble ourselves before the Lord and ask Him to teach us. Every time we open the Scriptures, we should begin with prayer, asking God to reveal His truth to us. There are also seasons in our Christian walk when we are simply not yet mature enough to grasp everything God desires to teach us. Hebrews 5:13 “For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.” God patiently grows His children. As we mature in Christ, truths that once seemed difficult begin to shine with wonderful clarity. When God provided manna for Israel in the wilderness, He did not place it inside their tents. They had to rise early each morning and gather the bread that God had graciously provided. In the same way, spiritual nourishment requires daily diligence. We must come to God’s Word, seeking Him faithfully, trusting that He will feed our souls. So take heart. Do not become discouraged if today’s reading seems difficult. Pray. Wait upon the Lord. Return to His Word tomorrow and the next day. In His perfect timing, He will open your understanding, speak to your heart, and with every faithful step you take, you will grow in grace and mature in your walk with Him.

Psa 37:7 Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: When the Roman soldiers were surrounding Peter’s Master, he rose at once to defence….but the Lord said…Put up your sword in the sheath….All they that take the sword shall perish with the sword. We are all too ready to take up the sword in our defence or when a false accusation has been made against a loved one – This is seldom successful. “A moments silence, when some irritating words are said may seem a small thing, yet at that moment is your way of serving and pleasing God.” Henrietta Louisa Sidney Lear. It is then we cry in desperation, ‘Lord avenge me of my adversary and straighten out this mess.’ Not until then do we have peace and victory. If we keep our hands off that sword and leave our reputation, fears, wounds in His loving hands – we will be amazed at what God will do.
