At Calvary, every age group is taught God’s Word in an expository, verse-by-verse manner. Paul’s charge to Timothy remains our commitment:
“Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.” (2 Timothy 4:2)
Join us each Sunday before the services as we pray for the ministries, those serving, and seek God’s blessing upon our fellowship.
Our Wednesday evening prayer gathering is the engine room of the ministry at CCSH—a precious time to seek the Lord, pray for one another, and intercede for God’s work. Once again, we rejoice in seeing Him faithfully answer prayer this past week.
Following each service, our pastors and elders are available to pray with you. If you are carrying a burden or have a need, we would count it a privilege to pray alongside you.

From the Pastor’s Pen
Ephesians 5:25 – “Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her.”
Every husband should regularly ask himself one question:
“Am I doing my part in my marriage?”
The issue is not whether your wife is fulfilling her responsibilities. God’s question to you is, “Are you fulfilling yours?”
Scripture summarises a husband’s calling in two words: love and lead. God has entrusted husbands with the responsibility of being the spiritual initiators in the home. Sadly, many marriages struggle because men have become passive rather than purposeful in leading their families toward Christ.
Three times in Ephesians 5, husbands are commanded to love their wives. This love is not based on feelings or on how our wives respond. It is agape love—the sacrificial love Christ showed us.
“God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)
Jesus loved first. He served first. He sacrificed first. That is our pattern.
Philippians 2 reminds us to put the needs of others before our own, just as Christ humbled Himself for us. True leadership is never about demanding our rights but laying them down in loving service.
Peter adds a solemn reminder:
“Husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge… giving honour unto the wife… that your prayers be not hindered.” (1 Peter 3:7)
No one can encourage a wife’s spiritual growth more than her husband, and no one can hinder it more. Our greatest ministry, after our walk with Christ, is our home.
None of us loves perfectly. That is why we must be continually filled with the Holy Spirit. The love God commands is the love He supplies as we abide in Him.
Today, ask yourself:
Am I loving my wife as Christ loves the church? Am I leading my family toward Him?
The strongest testimony of our faith is often not what people see at church, but what our wife and children experience at home.
Verse of the day
How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them! [If] I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee. (Psalm 139:17-18)
Reflection – The Lord is constantly thinking about you, His child! His thoughts are always for your good (Jeremiah 29:11). He loves you with an everlasting love (Jeremiah 31:3)! How great is the sum of your thoughts towards God? How much time do you spend thinking about Him? Remember your Father’s love for you! Recall your identity as His own child! Rejoice in Him and take heart in whom you have been made to be: one of the everlasting sons of God!
